5 Day Diwali Festival


Diwali or Dipawali is India’s biggest festival. This is also known as the festival of light. Five Day Diwali Festival is combination of five festivals. five day Diwali festival starts with Dhanteras and ends with Bhai Dooj. The festivals came under five day Diwali festivals are :-

1. Dhanteras
2. Narak Chaturdasi (Mostly known as Chhoti Diwali)
3. Lakshmi Puja( Main Day of Diwali)
4. Govardhan Puja
5. Bhai Dooj


1. Dhanteras :- 

Dhanteras is the first day of Five day Diwali festival. On This day people buy new jewelry and cloths. Believe behind this festival is that at this day buying jewelry brings prosperity in human beings life.

2. Narak Chaturdashi Or Chhoti Diwali:- 

This is the second day of five day Diwali festival. This day is mostly known as Chhoti Diwali. On this day people massage their body for removing stress, Bathe and rest So they can give full attention on the Diwali.

3. Lakshmi Puja(Diwali) :-

This day is mostly known as Main Diwali day or Lakshmi puja day. People worship Godden Lakshmi this day. In Modern world people burn cracker on this day. People lighten their houses by Candles and Diya’s on this day.

4. Govardhan Puja :-  

This is the fourth day of Diwali festival. On this day Govardhan Puja is performed at many places of India.

4. Bhai Dooj :- 


This is the fifth and last day of five day Diwali festival. Bhai Dooj festival is also known as Bhai Teeka or Bhai Pota in many places of Haryana and Bengal. On this say brothers visit their sisters on this day. And sister pray for their brothers. this day is little similar to Raksha Bandhan festival.
