Bal Diwas-Children's Day In India "14th November"


In India 14th November is celebrated as Children’s Day. This is the birth date of India’s first Prime Minister “Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru”. Jawahar Lal Nehru loves children very much  so their birthday is celebrated as children’s day. Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru was very popular in children’s by the name Chacha Nehru.


 In English Chacha Nehru means Uncle Nehru. Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru was born on 14 November 1889.

In Hindi Children’s day is known as Bal Diwas.

Jawahar Lal Nehru worked very hard for the education of Children’s. Jawahar Lala Nehru established many educational institutes for Youngster’s. For example he established All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS), Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) and Indian Institute of Management(IIM).

 He started  a five year plan for providing free education to the children’s. Jawahar Lal Nehru worked for the good educational growth of Children’s. That is why Children’s Day is celebrated on the birth day of Jawahar Lal Nehru in India.
