Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti is very famous festival in India. Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti is the anniversary of Guru Nanak. He was the founder of Sikh Panth. Guru Nanak was born in 1469 AD at Tolevandi(Lahore). This place is now in Pakistan.

On this day people visit Gurudwara's, sing hymns, do prayers and take the blessing of The Guru. According to Indian calendar this day falls on Kartik Poornima. Kartik Poornima is the full moon day in the month of Kartik. This festival is celebrated in India and in all over the world. But this festival is very famous in North part of the India. Because the follower of Guru Nanak Dev ji are more in North India.
